It is that time already...back to school. Where did our summer go? It was a nice one for us. Not much planned, but still busy all the same. Busy with what we wanted, when we wanted. Scott traveled a lot, but the kids and I stayed close to home playing with friends, swimming, and enjoying our backyard. As nice as the summer was, everyone at our house was ready for school. Sarah Elizabeth started 2nd grade yesterday. Her teacher is Mrs. Hunnicutt. Sophie is still at Mother's Day Out two days a week and started today. Her teacher is Mrs. Susan. Spencer is also at MDO, his teacher is Mrs. Amanda. He was the least enthusiastic of the three. He has become a mama's boy over the summer and has developed a shyness. They all love school and I am really glad. It is amazing what I can get done when the house is empty!
Now to the broken bone. Yes, it is our first. Probably not our last. We had a back to school get together with some friends on Saturday. Spencer was on our trampoline with several other children. He was laying down on it, when a little girl several years older accidentally jumped and landed on his foot. He of course started crying, but soon after continued playing. That night it was somewhat swollen, but not too bad. Sunday morning he didn't want to walk on it and it was purple. After some motrin, he seemed back to normal. Scott asked one of his basketball buddies, who is an orthopedic surgeon, about it on Sunday afternoon and he told him to give it a few days. Well, today is Tuesday and it is still swollen and still purple. Scott took him to the doctor and he does have a broken ankle bone (thanks again Chad for getting us in)! He is the most pitiful little site with that cast! Thankfully, he has a "shoe" on the bottom of the cast so he is able to walk with it. I am sure this will be a trying time for all of us, he is already wanting to take the cast off. Like a said on my last post, life is never dull with a 2 year old little boy in the house!
